• Android rules our world: About 80% of our users are on Android (hello, African communities!). Naturally, this makes Android a big focus for us, with iOS playing a more selective supporting role.

• Platform quirks: Android offers calling features that iOS just doesn’t, so enhancements for iOS tend to be fewer but impactful.
  

That’s why we’ve combined iOS development with Mobile Team Lead—where you’ll guide the whole mobile team’s journey across platforms.

As our Mobile Team Lead, you’ll guide the mobile team, work with our Android dev Vahagn and frontend dev Isah and collaborate with our Product Owner Pedro to define the vision for both iOS and Android apps. You’ll own the user experience across the board and help bring exciting new features to life.

What you’ll do:

• Serve as the Mobile Team Lead, overseeing both iOS and Android app development and quality.

• Lead end-to-end development and maintenance of Talk360’s iOS app, ensuring reliability and scalability.

• Collaborate with Vahagn & Isah, our Android developers, to maintain feature uniformity and code quality across platforms.

• Write, test, and maintain clean, modular, and high-quality code.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues to maintain app performance and user satisfaction.

• Continuously improve the apps, incorporating user feedback and best practices.

• Document app architecture and uphold technical standards across the tech stack.

• Manage CI/CD pipelines, source control, and app release processes.

• Lead the mobile team of 2 developers, promoting a high-performing, diverse environment
  

You will be working with our CTO, Tom, our Android Developer Vahagn, Frontend Dev Isah, as well as the rest of the tech team: Backenders Alex, Yahaya & Oleg, our QA Feyi and Pedro, product owner.

Who You Are:

• Proficiency in iOS development using Swift

• The ideal candidate is already familiar with Android coding too (Kotlin, using Android Studio)

• Maintain & extend automated app testing using Appium

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

• Ability to work in a startup & dynamic environment

• Ability to write clean, updated, and scalable code

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve errors independently

• High level of knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira

• Up to date knowledge of the latest trends and technologies in iOS app development.

• Creative problem-solving ability to develop new technology solutions to meet the needs of the business and to debug and resolve development issues efficiently.

Lead our mobile team and continuously improve an already successful app that is currently used by over 200.000 users every month in about 190 countries. You directly shape our users’ experience and are responsible for all future development of our App. You are also responsible for keeping our mission going as you're helping to connect African communities with their friends and family.
