The role: building towards sustainable growth & connection

As Chief Revenue Officer, you are ultimately responsible for all commercial activities. Your challenge will be to achieve 25% annual growth with at least 15% EBITDA through strategic cross/upsell, retention, and organic growth. You know how to achieve scalable growth by continuously thinking from a CAC vs. LTV perspective. For example, you ensure that your team runs two-weekly digital experiments. Over the past year, a strong foundation has been built by an interim CRO focusing on the right customers and the right approach this now needs to be further professionalized and scaled.

Your responsibilities:

In this role, we expect you to think like an entrepreneur, proactively coming up with initiatives. Your goal is to further structure and professionalize growth. You will be responsible for, among others:

  • Leading the marketing, CRM, data, and partnerships team, which consists of 7 people: CRM Specialist, Paid Marketing Specialist, Visual Designer, Data Lead, Data Analyst, Global Partnerships Manager, and the South Africa Lead. Over the past year, the team has matured, works more independently, and still holds great potential.

  • One of your main focus points will be strengthening the retention strategy. You will make a deep-dive together with the data analyst into areas that can be improved across the entire commercial customer journey, from awareness to cross/upsell, including customer service, based on clear segmentation.

  • A scale-up way of working has been implemented, with clear KPIs. Based on these KPIs and targets, you will realize further growth. Other KPIs you will manage include: LTV, CAC, ROAS, and funnel conversion.

  • You will receive funnel ownership: from acquisition to repeat purchase, loyalty and referrals. You use in-depth data to analyze the use of different channels and manage your team to run campaigns that contribute to revenue.

  • Expanding Shop360, a strategic growth pillar, for sending mobile data and airtime.

  • Aligning with product, tech, and support for optimal collaboration. Based on data, you’ll create clear dashboards that help the rest of the organization professionalize and grow. You discuss bottlenecks weekly with the MT and quarterly in more extensive sessions.

  • In this role, you work closely with Hans, the CEO. It is important that you take a proactive role and show ownership.

Job requirements

Marketing & Strategy: 8+ years in growth and/or marketing in B2C digital products. You have worked at a pure player platform or digital service company, so you understand the dynamics. You have expertise in full-funnel marketing: SEA, CRM (especially retention), ASO, brand, content, pricing, and CRO because you have worked hands-on with these levers, you are able to coach the team.

It’s a plus if you have demonstrable experience in scaling international startups or scale-ups, and you know how to connect strategy and execution to deliver real results. You understand our unit economics aspirations. In this role, we don’t expect you to act as a finance lead, but it’s important that you are numbers-oriented and have managed a P&L before.

Leadership: You are mature and experienced, you lead with ownership and high energy. You know how to build and develop teams and you are a reliable and stable sparring partner for the MT. You thrive in international, diverse environments and understand how to bring different cultures together around shared goals.

Personality:

Strategic and hands-on: You can think, but especially you can do. In this phase of Talk360, a corporate-only background is unfortunately (often) not a match, decision-making speed and execution differ too much.

Personality & Values: Positive, energetic, pragmatic, and communicative. You value happy users and colleagues, are motivated by our mission, and know how to involve others in contributing to it. You’re driven to succeed, but not at any cost. That’s why your team and stakeholders see you as a true lead-by-example type of leader.

Data-minded & experimentation-driven: You test, learn, and adapt. You know how to set priorities based on data and maintain an overview to ensure objectives are met.

What you get

  • A performance bonus, and after the first contract, the possibility to participate in a SAR (equity-based) scheme.

  • Yearly €1.500 personal development budget

  • Company laptop and all the tools you need

  • Monthly phone allowance

  • 25 vacation days

  • Per calendar year you are permitted to swap two standard public holidays in your country for ones that are more relevant to your culture or faith.

  • Commuting allowance

  • Weekly team lunch on Thursdays

  • Flexible hybrid work setup (we’re in-office on Mondays & Thursdays)

  • Option to work remotely, including from our South Africa office
